For us weekends in the summer mean going to LBI. It is a great privilege that has been available to us our entire lives so I think sometimes we might take for granted how lucky we are; like on Fridays when I bitch about having to drive down! Weekends also mean time to be spent working on our store Fragile Earth Stuffed Animals. Since we are both working full time, working on the store is relegated to after work and weekends (you'd be surprised how snarky these employers get if we try to do anything at work). However, with working full time during the week and then putting in at least a couple hours work on Fragile Earth, by the time the weekend comes we really just want to relax for at least part of it.
When I do relax, either by sleeping, talking to the parents or just reading a good book, I always feel guilty afterwards because I didn't work on Fragile Earth. Our dream is to get it to the point where we can both one day work for Fragile Earth full time and have it support us and more. This will never happen if we don't put the work in now. So what is the balance? There's just never enough time because before you know it (like now), it's Sunday and time to go home to start the merry-go-round all over again.
This weekend there was a little more relaxing than work but I was so damned tired! Yesterday, I went and got my hair cut and colored and then we went to the craft fair. It was a really nice couple of hours spent strolling through the stalls in the sun with Mary Beth and my Mom and of course, Mr. Dickon.
By the way, to the guys out there, the whole dog walking to pick up girls thing works with the right dog. I spent more time talking about Dickon and what kind of dog he was than anything else. This cutie, literally stops traffic!
I got a really beautiful computer bag to carry around my Mac. The fabrics are so me.

As you can see, Andrew is also a big fan, though with his delusions about his size he thinks it should be used to carry around Andrew and not my Mac.

I also got a really beautiful blown glass swordfish necklace.

Can you believe $36.00 for both? $26 for the bag and $10 for the necklace!
So, now I must try to go and find ways to get people to shop at our store because before I know it, it will be time for dinner and then time to go home and get ready for the merry-go-round to start again. Eventually, I WILL be able to get off the damn thing!!
